Payor mix continues to improve at network practices.

In the first quarter of fiscal year 2018, there were 155,864 visits to network practices, compared with 156,084 during the same period in fiscal year 2017. Hurricane Irma had a significant impact on the September volume, as visits were 11 percent less than September 2016. However, the payor mix continues to improve, with a 4.6 percent increase in commercial pay compared with the same period in fiscal year 2017. In all, 41.3 percent of the pay is commercial.

The north campus medical office building had 14,975 business visits during the first quarter, which is 63 percent higher than the first quarter of fiscal year 2017. Thirty-six percent of those visits represented new patients. The payor mix was 58 percent commercial.

Call center hours are now 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. An average of 400 calls per week are received between 6 and 10 p.m. The call center receives 132,000 calls per month and answers 95 percent of them, with 81 percent answered within 30 seconds.

We continue to enhance patient communication using the MyUFHealth patient portal. At the end of September, there were 63,196 active patients. Thirty-five percent of patients who arrived for clinic visits in September have active MyUFHealth accounts.
